Level 3 ACE qualifications practice script now available

Assessment Process improvements

We are improving the way we process assessments in response to feedback we received at our stakeholder focus groups. Centres asked us to consider modifying the process so completed assessments are sent direct to assessors. That would reduce the number of post journeys and the associated possibility of delays to results.

Gaynor Kingsman is moving on

After six years with us, Gaynor Kingsman, our Communications Manager in Scotland is leaving us at the end of the month to take up an exciting new position. Gaynor has spent six years building strong face-to-face relationships with our partners in education and the voluntary and public sectors to secure project funding, and increase the number of candidates taking our qualifications. To be successful we need a strong profile and network in Scotland. Gaynor has given us both. She says no one deserves our appreciation more than the centres and teachers who deliver our qualifications, whose hard work continues to take us closer to our vision every day.

Hertfordshire Police Start Their Own BSL Classes

Press release from Hertfordshire Police: Twelve Hertfordshire Link Officers for the Deaf have been chosen to start a CACDP British Sign Language course in order to enhance their communication skills with Deaf people in the community. The police-specific course will be run at police headquarters in Hertfordshire.

NVQ Level 3 & Level 4 Transfer of Registration

A reminder to centres that any NVQ candidates who are registered for Level 3 NVQ in BSL (units PSL3 & RSL3) or Level 4 NVQ in BSL (units RSL4, PSL4a, PSL4b) must submit their portfolios for external verification before 30 June 2009. The final date for certification for this qualification is 31 August 2009.

BSL201 Stories Wanted
