How can I learn sign language?

If you want to learn British Sign Language as a complete beginner, we recommend enrolling on our British Sign Language for beginners course. It costs just £9.99 for lifetime access and provides a solid foundation for any further learning.

All of our qualifications and training courses are delivered through a combination of classroom-based teaching, online learning, and individual or group tutorials.

Assessments vary depending on the specific qualification you are working towards, but some examples include: Informal conversations, formal conversations, group discussions, practical assessments, presentations, and coursework.

You may be given homework or recommended educational material to further your learning. BSL Homework is our comprehensive online library, full of support materials and videos, developed by BSL teachers and experts.

Yes, we are proud to say that all of our BSL training and qualifications are accredited by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation — also known as Ofqual. They regulate all qualifications, examinations, and assessments in England, so you know you are in good hands.
