Jim will be meeting with Jane Eldridge, Senior Associate from Ofcom’s Policy Team and Peter Bourton, Head of TV Content Policy, at their offices in central London

You may remember from our last update that we submitted a response to Ofcom’s consultation on live TV subtitling. Our response highlighted that delays, speed and lack of accuracy regularly leave deaf people lost in translation It is also bizarre that pre-recorded programmes are often broadcast with live subtitles.

Our meeting with Ofcom presents an opportunity to progress with our agenda to improve the quality of live subtitles by working in collaboration with them.

Our campaign for change continues to march forward so stay tuned for further updates.
