We have a meeting tomorrow with Mary Creagh the Shadow Secretary of State for Transport to discuss making transport more accessible for deaf people.
Mary is the Labour MP for Wakefield and has a hearing loss which she acquired at the age of 27.
People with deafness and hearing loss experience barriers in accessing transport services, because they are insufficiently tailored to their communication needs.
Many services rely on auditory transport announcements, which put deaf people at a disadvantage.
Deaf people require greater access to real time visual information displays to stay informed about changes or cancellations to services
Signature welcome the opportunity to discuss these issues with Mary and hope she will put her personal experience to good use in her current role.
