Signature are pleased to announce that we have been shortlisted for two awards at the Federation of Awarding Bodies Awards. Firstly, Signature has been shortlisted for The Awarding Organisation of the Year for Delivering Real Impact on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion award. Secondly, Signature’s Level 6 Diploma in Sign Language Interpreting and Translation (INTRA) has also been nominated for Qualification of the Year.
Now in its 9th year, the prestigious FAB awards recognise the contributions made by awarding and end point assessment organisations and their employees to education and skills in the UK over the past year.
The Awarding Organisation of the Year for Delivering Real Impact on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion award recognises an Awarding Organisation that has exhibited exemplary insight and clarity of purpose in the area of equality, diversity, and inclusion. The judges will be looking for evidence of how the Awarding Organisation has demonstrates appreciation of diversity within their own organisation, whether that’s within their own organisation or within the wider education and skills sector.
The Qualification of the Year award recognises a qualification that has an innovative approach and one where the content is inclusive and meets the needs of a diverse range of learners. The qualification will represent good practice in awarding and so demonstrate the important contribution that qualifications make to the education and skills sector.
Lindsay Foster, Executive Director at Signature said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for these awards, something which reflects the hard work of all those involved at Signature.
Over the past 42 years, Signature has worked to improve communication with and for deaf people, whether that has been campaigning for a BSL GCSE or creating qualifications that make a real impact on real lives. Indeed, within our work we will continue to strive for a more inclusive and accessible society. Signature, and all those involved in the organisation, work tirelessly to support deaf individuals, through creating qualifications that contribute to effective communication within our society. Our qualifications illuminate our dedication towards equality, and this is something we at Signature pride ourselves on.
Commenting on the awards, John McNamara, Interim Chief Executive of the Federation of Awarding Bodies said: “We are delighted to have once again received a remarkable number of high-quality nominations for the esteemed FAB 2024 Awards.
