The Disability Action Alliance was established by the Office of Disability Issues (ODI) as one of the recommendations of the Fulfilling Potential report. It brings together organisations for disabled people with those from the public, voluntary and private sectors They work in partnership on a variety of projects relating to disabled access to services and wider social inclusion. It is chaired by Liz Sayce, Chief Executive of Disability Rights UK, who led the government’s recent review on Access to Work.
We are pleased to be involved in the Alliance and will strive to ensure that deaf issues are firmly on their radar. We hope that our involvement will help us to make sure the deaf sector perspective is reflected in their ongoing project work.
We encourage other deaf sector organisations to get involved and make their voice heard. All organisations have the opportunity to join the Alliance and the benefits of joining are explained here.
