Sense are a national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind or have sensory impairments. As part of their volunteering campaign, the Get Out There (GOT) Group are currently looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to offer a few hours of their time each week to help deafblind young people (aged 6-25) take part in activities that will boost their confidence and independence as well as help them make friends.
If you have a spare few hours you can offer you may find yourself sailing, rock climbing, rambling, playing games or doing arts and crafts. You don’t need to have any previous experience of volunteering or working with people with a sensory loss as all training is provided.
The activities will run after-school and at the weekends in or near to the Warwickshire area. You will need to be able to commit to helping at least fortnightly for three months and / or help on at least one residential trip.
Sense also pays for all food and travel costs.
If you are interested in getting involved, or would like some more information, please email Lucy Howard Lucy.Howard@sense.org.uk or call on 07825 380931
