The National Sensory Impairment Partnership (NatSIP) has been awarded a two year contract by the Department for Education which will run from 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2015. You can find out more about Signature’s role in this project on our Campaign work and partnerships page.
As part of the project, Signature will lead on a Language Audit of the provision of services to deaf children and young people who use British Sign Language (BSL) and other sign language systems.
The Audit is intended to help to make things better for children and young people who may;
- Be first language BSL users
- use BSL in the home
- have a sensory impairment
- be bilingual
- use other sign systems
As part of the information gathering for the BSL/Sign Systems Audit, we are looking for examples of what worked well to support such a child or young person.
We are seeking effective practice case study examples to contribute to the audit. If you would like to take part, you can find guidance notes and a case study form here.
Please e-mail completed case study forms to Louise Cole at loulou.cole@ticali.co.uk
