Couple's Brave Bike Challenge for Charity

A deaf man who is about to go completely blind will use the last of his sight for a mammoth journey for charity.
Bob Nolan, 50, and his wife Louise, 44, will cycle 1,000 miles on a tandem from Land's End to John O Groats this summer - with Louise, who is profoundly deaf, steering the way.

Deaf Health Research Project

SignHealth is working with deaf organisations from all over the UK on a really important piece of research looking into the health of deaf people. They want to know whether deaf people are less healthy than the hearing population and what deaf people think of health services. Once they have gathered proper, scientific research they can start to campaign for improvements.

Exciting Times Ahead Following Scottish Parliament General Election 2011

As you may have seen, Scotland has just held a general election. The SNP won the election with 69 seats out of 129. With 9 seats more than the combined opposition parties, the SNP have formed the first majority government since devolution. Labour have 37, the Conservatives 15, Liberal Democrats 5, the Greens 2 and one independent (Margo MacDonald).
