New Chair for Signature

Signature welcomes Jonathan Farnhill, as Chair of Signature.

Jim Edwards, Chief Executive of Signature said: “We are pleased to welcome Jonathan as our new Chair. I look forward to working closely with him to ensure Signatures continued success. Jonathan brings with him experience and knowledge from both the deaf and education sectors and as an existing Trustee, he already has an invested insight into the organisation and our charitable aims”.

Jonathan added: “I am delighted to be appointed as Chair of Signature, and very grateful for this opportunity. I think Signature does really important work, and I look forward to working with my fellow Trustees and the staff at Signature to develop and grow this work in the future”.

Jonathan Farnhill will take over as Chair from 1 September 2015. He has been a Trustee of Signature from 2010 and is also a member of the Signature Business Committee. Jonathan follows Nick Lewis in the role, who held the term of Chair for the last four years.

Jonathan has been the Chief Executive and Principal of the charity Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education since 2006. He was previously the Chair of the Social Enterprise 'Chime' which delivers audiology services on behalf of NHS Devon and Vice-Chair of Governors of Clyst Vale Community College. Jonathan holds the Open University’s Certificate in Management and has an MA in Applied Theology. His book – “The Porcupine Principle (and other fundraising secrets)” – was published by the Directory of Social Change and this has led to him being a regular speaker at charity conferences in the UK and Europe”.
