My Internship at Signature

Signature recently had the pleasure of welcoming Maria Knoth from Germany, during her internship here in the UK. Maria had the following to say following her week with us in our Durham office:

“My name is Maria Knoth and I am from Plauen in Germany. I attend Zwickau University.”

“From 5 until 9 September I had the chance to intern at Signature. I took part in lots of meetings and conversations where I gained an insight into the history, current work and future plans of the organisation.”

“In September 2010, I started studying sign language interpreting in Germany, therefore the information I have been given about interpreting and registration of interpreters in the UK was of great value to me. I am now able to compare the situation here with regulations in Germany and I will take a lot of experiences and expert knowledge away with me. I can highly recommend an internship at Signature to everyone who wants to learn more in this field.”

“I want to thank Signature very much for offering me the chance to complete this internship and for supporting me during my time there. I am deeply grateful, that so many people spent their time explaining all the regulations and their day-to-day tasks to me.”

“I wish Signature all the best for the future and complete success to put current ideas into action.”

“I will be spending the next three weeks in London shadowing interpreters and learning more about BSL/English interpreting in the UK.”

Signature would like to wish Maria well with her studies and future work.
