March update from Signature

March promises to be a very busy month for Signature.

Qualifications and Projects

As you may know, our qualifications team is working on the development of the new Level 4 qualification in BSL. Thank you to the group of people who were recruited from our Knowledge Network to work with us on this.

We are also nearing the end of our research into our planned Level 4 qualification working with Deafblind people.

As part of the I-Sign 2 Project we are delighted to report that we have developed a qualification for those in a Communication Support Worker (CSW) role in Key Stages 3 or 4. UCLan will be delivering the course from April.

Out and About

We will be promoting our courses and qualifications at the Education Show in Birmingham from 20 to 22 March, where we will be joined by our Get Deaf Aware colleagues. Remember to come and see us.

We will also have a stand at the BSL Symposium alongside NRCPD on 18 March.

Our Team

On 19 March the Signature Board of Trustees will meet in Durham to discuss our Strategic Plan, ready for its inception later in the year.

We will also welcome to our team on 3 March a new Senior Policy Advisor who will be based in London and will lead on policy issues.
