HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) are running a pilot to introduce a new service for their deaf customers. The pilot will run from 2 September 2013 until 31 October 2013.
Deaf customers can use a new online form to request a face to face appointment with HMRC. The service currently offers customers support for Self Assessment, Pay As You Earn, Tax Credits and Child Benefit enquiries – more subjects may be added if the pilot is extended. They will respond to online appointment requests within 2 working days.
