On Friday 2 October, Pam Tilson, Communications Manager with Signature in Northern Ireland was present at a reception to launch the new premises for Foyle Sign Language Centre and the reformation of the Deaf Association in the City.
The Centre, based in the heart of the City in Bishop Street, will serve as a focus not just for the Deaf community in the North West, but for their family and friends and those who wish to improve their communication skills with Deaf people.
“I was delighted to be asked by Richard McFadden, the Director of the Centre, to attend the official launch, and to present some certificates to those who have recently completed courses there. It is clear that the Centre will not just provide a focus for the Deaf community, but that they will actively encourage those who wish to learn to sign and communicate with Deaf people to use the facilities on offer. We at Signature wish the Centre every success and look forward to working with them in the future,” said Pam.
