National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD) is proud to announce a major milestone in its history. By reaching a staggering 1,000 registered professionals for the first time.
The first register was established in 1982, solely for Sign Language Interpreters and held only 121 members. It has since grown and evolved to include many different categories. Today, NRCPD administers professional registers for sign language interpreters, lipspeakers, speech to text reporters, LSPs – deafblind manual and notetakers.
Following the independent review and consultation NRCPD was established on 1 January 2009.
Thank you for your continued support and recognition of the importance of professional registration.
