A Bill to promote the use of BSL has been introduced in Scotland. The Bill, which has been widely supported within the Deaf community, will aim to raise awareness of BSL in Scotland and will also look to improve the services available for Deaf people.
The Bill, which was formally introduced by the Labour MSP Mark Griffin, would require the Scottish Government to produce a national plan for BSL. Public authorities within Scotland would also be required to develop their own plans, showing what they will do to increase awareness within their organisations.
The full details of the Bill can be found here in both English and in BSL http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/parliamentarybusiness/Bills/82853.aspx
