Alra – The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts – is holding two acting courses during the summer for BSL users. Both courses are free to take part in thanks to funding from the LSC.
This is a unique opportunity for deaf people who have a keen interest in acting but have never known where to start. Each course is led by a deaf artist who uses BSL. Students can become fully immersed in the workshops, gain invaluable experience and gain confidence in their skills as deaf actors.
You don’t need any experience and Alra are looking for people who are open-minded, enthusiastic, have a keen interest in acting and are committed to undertaking either of these two week long courses.
Alra are holding two dates for workshop-style auditions on 27 March 2010 and 10 April 2010. For more information you can contact Alra by visiting their website at www.alra.co.uk. You can also contact Amy Smith on asmith@alra.co.uk or 020 8870 6475.
