The British Deaf Association (BDA) will be holding the 2nd BSL Symposium on Tuesday 18 March 2014, at the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury in London.
The BSL Symposium theme is Strengthening Our Rights and it has two main aims;
- To launch a report on legal status for BSL
- Working together to achieve more equality and rights for deaf people
Professor Graham Turner and Dr Robert Adam will each chair a panel of experts who will answer questions from the audience. They will be joined by a host of speakers;
Morning Session
Kaisa Alanne, Director of the Finnish Deaf Association, on Sign Language and Government.
Dr Sarah Batterbury, BDA’s consultant on the report, Legal Status for BSL.
Afternoon Session
Liz Scott-Gibson, former Chief Executive of Deaf Action and Linda Richards on Strengthening BSL/English Interpreting.·

Signature Chief Executive, Jim Edwards will attend the Symposium and a team from Signature and NRCPD will be exhibiting on the day.
