It’s been another exciting year for Signature. As 2018 comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect upon our triumphs, but also the challenges we have faced over the last twelve months.
Signature CPD (Continuing Professional Development) is now available!
Developed and presented by subject experts, for communication professionals and teachers, these structured activities will develop your competence and performance whilst contributing towards your CPD portfolio (1 CPD point per activity).
On Monday 19th November 2018, Rt Hon Damian Hinds MP, Secretary of State for Education publically announced that both the Department for Education (DfE) and Ofqual are separately reviewing a proposal from Signature, in regard to a GCSE in British Sign Language (BSL).
On Friday 9th November, we had the pleasure of hosting the tenth anniversary of The Signature Annual Awards. Bringing the awards back to the North East where Signature is based, The BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art on the banks of the river Tyne was the perfect venue for such a prestigious occasion.
It’s that time of year again, where we welcome both new and returning students into our centres and look to help create a new generation of BSL users and professionals.
We are excited to share with you the new Signature website. Over the last 6 months we have been working to understand what you, our site visitors want from our website.
At Signature we’re always looking at the ways in which we operate, so that we’re able to stay ahead of the curve and ultimately provide the best service to our learners and centres.
Ofqual are looking for experts in BSL.
They are looking for people to join them as external experts to help their work on qualifications and assessments for GCSEs, A levels, a wide range of vocational and technical qualifications and new apprenticeship end-point assessments.
On 31st July, Signature met with Ofqual and the Department for Education (DfE) to discuss recent events around the development of a GCSE in British Sign Language (BSL). We are pleased to announce that we will be preparing a proposal for the development of a GCSE in BSL. This is not a commitment from DfE and Ofqual to agree a future qualification but is hugely positive news. Signature would like to thank them both for the opportunity to meet with them and for helping us take a step in the right direction.
Signature Teacher Training is our flexible online platform, created with Signature BSL teachers in mind. Following our initial success, we recently underwent an update in order to include exciting new features.
