To commemorate their 175th birthday, the Royal Association for Deaf People (RAD), is hosting the RAD 175 Birthday Honours gala awards ceremony. All that is great about Deaf history, language and culture will be celebrated on this memorable occasion.  

We are delighted to announce the launch of the Signature Learning Hub. The exciting online Signature Learning Hub provides essential teacher training in delivering Signature Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications in British Sign Language. 

Signature fully supports the British Deaf Association’s (BDA) call for a British Sign Language (BSL) Act.

To celebrate their 175^th birthday, RAD are holding an awards ceremony in February 2016 to celebrate all that is great about Deaf history, language and culture.

We have announced the winners of the 2015 Signature Annual Awards, which recognise and celebrate the achievements of volunteers, businesses and individuals whose efforts help deaf people to be part of their local community. 

British Sign Language (BSL) has been recognised as a language in law for the first time with the passing of the BSL (Scotland) Bill.

The Bill requires the Scottish Ministers to “promote, and facilitate the promotion of, the use and understanding of the language known as British Sign Language”.

We have recently sent out our welcome newsletters for students who are studying BSL at Level 1 & Level 2.

We have always recommended that teacher notes are distributed to candidates.  For the Level 3 Certificate in British Sign Language we have added a pack of Handouts that you can give to your candidates to support your teaching for topics covered in the Linguistics Unit (BSL320).   

Almost 60 organisations are already supporting the statement of common purpose on deafness and hearing loss.
