We can confirm that another qualification which was reaching the end of it’s NQF accreditation have been extended until 31 December 2010. This is: Level 3 Certificate for Language Service Professionals Working with Deaf and Deafblind People (LLS3, LNT3, LST3, & LDB3).
Nominations for the 2010 Signature Annual Awards for excellence in communication with deaf people open today. People and organisations that have excelled in improving communication between deaf and hearing people can, from today, be nominated for an award on a dedicated website www.signature.org.uk/awards.
Graeae theatre company are opening a new show in London later this month which stars deaf actress Caroline Parker in a one-women show – Signs of a Star Shaped Diva. Described as fantastic, hilarious and heartfelt by Three Weeks – Edinburgh the show is about Sue, an undertaker from Bingley Bridge, who finds herself hurtling to stardom and Las Vegas by signing the songs of her favourite Divas, Billie Holiday, Dusty Springfield, Ella Fitzgerald and Gloria Gaynor.
