10th Anniversary of the Recognition of British Sign Language

To mark the 10th anniversary of British Sign Language (BSL) being officially recognised, we are organising a parliamentary reception at the House of Commons on behalf of the BSL Alliance. The alliance includes Signature, National Deaf Children’s Society, British Deaf Association and the Royal Association of the Deaf.

The event will celebrate the changes which have taken place since the recognition, and will help raise awareness of BSL for the future.

The reception is being held on Monday 18 March 2013 at The Strangers Dining Room in the thriving heart of Westminster. It will be hosted by Sir Malcolm Bruce, the chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Deafness, and a host of leading figures are expected to attend.

MPs, colleagues and friends will join us to celebrate the landmark anniversary with our nation’s key decision makers.
