Learning a language or skill can be a challenge. Our approved centres will help you, as a learner, every step of the way towards achieving your qualification. Doing some extra work outside of the classroom will help you build upon the skills you have learnt with your teacher. We can support your learning with a number of different study aids.
On-line BSL Homework
Our online BSL Homework package is the perfect resource for anyone studying towards a Signature Level 1 Award in British Sign Language qualification. The BSL Homework helps you practice what you have been taught in the classroom. It has over 500 short stories in BSL, clips and questions to test yourself, and filmed assessment examples and tips. The BSL Homework also comes with a BSL Homework dictionary of over 1,100 signs. At Level 1, the BSL Homework is available for all three units; BSL101, BSL102 and BSL103. Anyone can register for the BSL101 Homework for free at www.bslhomework.org.uk.
Fingerspelling Chart
Fingerspelling and the Manual Alphabet is used to fingerspell the names of people and places, the titles of books and films, and the names of products or shops. When starting out, practice fingerspelling short words whilst saying the whole word - not the individual letters. As you become more confident try longer words. You can download a right-handed version and a left-handed version below.
