NRCPD Seek Two New Board Members

NRCPDThe National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD) is looking to recruit two new registration board members.

This exciting opportunity gives two individuals with the right skills the chance to join the board and help inform and support the NRCPD’s aims. The registration board meets three times a year. In addition to formal meetings, members are asked to comment on relevant issues and documents.

The voluntary roles would see members serve for a period of three years. However they could be eligible to serve for a second term if invited to do so. You can read more about the roles by clicking here to visit the NRCPD website.

The NRCPD administers professional registers for sign language interpreters, lipspeakers, speech to text reporters, LSPs – deafblind manual and notetakers. The NRCPD was formed in early 2009 but has history dating back more than 25 years. The first registers were formed in 1982 and have continually evolved to include the many different categories that there are today.

NRCPD is overseen by a registration board whose key role is to act as the guardian of professional standards for the communication professionals it registers. The registration board is responsible for the policies and procedures that govern professional registration and ensuring that the system maintains the confidence of all stakeholders.
