Louisa McDaid, Electronic Notetaker

Louisa became an Electronic Notetaker because she wanted to be part of a new and developing profession. She is currently working towards a Signature Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language.

Since 2004 Louisa has travelled all over the United Kingdom working on many varied assignments from national conferences to working at the Scottish Parliament. She has a professional manner and her high quality of service can always be relied upon.

Louisa was involved with the set up and running of the Association of Notetaking Professionals, served as the first Vice Chair, then as Secretary. She became Scotland's first qualified STAGETEXT theatre captioner in 2007 and still works in theatres providing this service.

Louisa is committed to the progression and expansion of Electronic Notetaking. She is currently involved on a voluntary basis in the development of a new captioning software which will make theatre captioning more accessible in the UK.
