Young Learner of the Year Award Criteria

Nominations for this award can come from teachers, centre staff, peers, or family and friends. Self nominations are also welcome.

To nominate someone for Young Learner of the Year, you will need to tell us about them and their activities and achievements in the classroom.

When completing your nomination, please respond to each of the following sections.

It is important that you answer as many questions, with as much information as possible. Each question will be scored individually.

Section One - About the Learner

  • How old is the nominee?
  • How long have they been studying for our qualifications?
  • Tell us what inspired the nominee to study for our qualifications.

Section Two - Dedication to Learning

  • What obstacles, if any, has the nominee overcome to do the course?
  • How have they demonstrated commitment in the classroom?

Section Three - Supporting Others

  • How has the nominee inspired and supported others in their class?
  • How has the nominee encouraged others to learn to communicate with deaf and deafblind people?

Section Four - Contribution to the Wider Community

Has the nominee used their newly acquired knowledge and skills in the community? If so, tell us about it here...
