Awards final for signing teacher
A Doncaster sign language teacher is through to the finals of a national awards ceremony.
Ian Townsley, from Bessacarr, won the award for Teacher of the Year in Yorkshire and the Humber 2010 and he will now progress to the finals of the Signature Annual Awards scheme, which recognises excellence in deaf communications.

Regional Signature winner announced
Action Deafness in Leicester proudly announced that a British Sign Language (BSL) student on their Signature course has won the prestigious Signature Learner of the Year award.
Ellah Kandi, who also volunteers with the charity, has been learning BSL with Action Deafness Books Knowledge Programme and recently passed her Level One exams.
